Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are one of the most effective and popular cosmetic dental treatments used to create a flawless natural looking smile.

A veneer is an ultra thin and ultra strong shell that is bonded to the surface of your existing tooth. Veneers provide a permanent cosmetic solution and are used to cover irregularities in the shape, length and width of the tooth, as well as chips, discolouration and spacing gaps. At Quality Dental we use porcelain veneers exclusively as they offer a superior finish, quality and durability for our patients.

The cosmetic purpose of a veneer is to bring greater uniformity to the appearance of your teeth and create a more balanced aesthetic to your smile. For this reason, multiple veneers are generally recommended to achieve the most pleasing aesthetic.

Veneers are usually completed over two appointments; the first appointment to prepare the teeth, and the second to fit the veneers. During the first appointment the tooth’s surface is lightly buffed and tapered in size by removing a small and safe amount of enamel. This ensures that the veneer securely fits on the tooth and perfectly suits the size and shape of your surrounding teeth. An impression is taken of your teeth, which is used to create a wax mould from which the exact size and shape of each porcelain veneer is handcrafted. You will be fitted with temporary veneers that are worn until your second appointment when your porcelain veneers are permanently fitted.

At Quality Dental our porcelain veneers are individually designed by Dr Luke Cronin and are created on-site in our laboratory, or our Sydney-based partner laboratory. Each porcelain veneer is made by hand to create a natural looking tooth that mimics the transparency and finish of natural teeth.
