Preventive Dentistry
With regular visits to our centre, we can ensure your oral health is kept at its best. Over time, plaque builds up on the teeth as well as accumulating below the gum-line. Bacteria then forms and creates a host of other dental problems.
Furthermore, each tooth has several surfaces and areas between the teeth and under the gum-line that must be cleaned and treated on a regular basis in order to ensure proper dental hygiene is maintained. These areas are impossible for you to clean or examine yourself.
Our preventive treatments include:
Scaling and polishing
This removes the hardened layer of plaque, which causes gum irritation and often is the main cause of gum disease. Removal of plaque also improves mouth taste and odour and is done whenever necessary – usually every six months.
Fissure sealants
This involves ‘sealing’ the deep grooves of the adult teeth with a liquid coating, which hardens after a few minutes. This stops food and plaque from embedding in these grooves and causing decay.
Radiographs
To view the surfaces between the teeth and monitor bone levels and tooth eruption.
Quality Dental provides you with the latest in oral disease prevention techniques and our regular recall system offers you a friendly reminder when it’s time for your next visit.
